|
A comprehensive industrial dental service benefits not only the worker but also industry. Good oral hygiene has been shown to minimize the complications arising from non-dental injuries. Therefore, the contributions of industrial dentistry to the general industrial health program is very important. Occupational disease of the teeth and oral structures can be conveniently grouped into (1) those which are due to direct action of the occupational causative agents on the oral structure and (2) those in which the oral structure are affected as a part of a systemic disturbance.
